On Monday I finally made it to an Etsy Lab to join in on an evening of screen printing workshop. It had been on my list of things to do since arriving in Berlin, but for some reason I had never made it. But I have a sneaking suspicion it has got the ball rolling and I shall now be a frequent visitor to the crafty Monday evenings.
Yesterday with the promise of sun and nothing to do, two friends and I decided it was time for another weekend adventure to an abandoned place. We chose to head north to explore the abandoned Iraqi Embassy in Pankow which I had heard was still full of old documents and furniture. That’s pretty hard to say no to.
Teufelsburg has been on my list of places to explore since visiting Berlin for the first time 3 years ago. For some reason summer last year passed by without me making it there and the increasingly colder weather has made my motivation slowly disappear. But on Wednesday my best friend who I first visited Berlin with came to see me with two other friends of ours, so I thought why not show them something different.
I love eye catching flyers. But I tend to find that awesome flyers don’t always result in awesome events, but every now and then a keeper crosses will your path. And I think I may have found one to take note of.
On Saturday I ventured back to Wedding to go to a club/museum/art gallery/old public swimming pool/general awesomeness which I have only been to once before. Stattbad Wedding back in the day used to be a public swimming complex but today it has been created into the perfect quirky location to showcase urban art and host awesome parties.
I have been living in Berlin for a month now and one of my favorite aspects about the city is the street art. There is always something new going up, or you go down a new street and a giant mural pops out at you so it feels like the city is constantly changing. Some of my favorite cities throughout the world have had amazing street art, bring the cities alive. I think it is such an individual way to brighten a dreary street and show cases the talent within the city. Here are some of the top Street Art cities in the world and also some of my favorites.
